Our goal is to bring together the best ideas from the world of education and the world of faith to create a solid foundation for education. From the education side, we use the approach of “Big History.” Big History zooms way out to look at the entire story of the universe, starting right from the Big Bang. It helps us to see exactly how our Creator prepared our universe for such a time as this! We also seek to use high-quality, free learning materials that are available online. By using these open resources, we can unlock the power of education for many more people, especially students living in poorer countries who might be limited in resources. At the same time, we want to include the ongoing discoveries connected to the Bible. Archaeologists uncover clues about how people lived thousands of years ago. Scholars study the original languages of the Bible to better understand its meaning. Historians explore how people have practiced their faith, passed down their beliefs, and searched for wisdom throughout the centuries. These insights give us opportunities to understand the Bible and our lives more deeply. By combining the best of modern education with these historical insights, we plan to give students a complete and inspiring picture of God’s world and their place in it.
Our Approach: Bringing Together the Best of Education, Science, and Faith
We believe that learning is one of life’s greatest adventures! Our approach brings together some of the best ideas from modern education, scientific discovery, and the Jewish and Christian traditions. By combining these powerful sources of knowledge and wisdom, we hope to create an exciting way to learn about our universe, our history, and our purpose in life.
One of our inspirations is Big History, an exciting way of studying history that begins with the Big Bang, nearly 14 billion years ago. Instead of looking only at human history, Big History explores the incredible story of everything—from the birth of the universe and the formation of stars and planets to the beginning of life on Earth and the rise of human civilization. It helps us see how everything fits together in one amazing story.
We also believe that a great education should be available to everyone, no matter where they live or how much money they have. That’s why we support the use of high-quality, free educational resources that anyone can access, share, and use. Whenever possible, we use carefully reviewed open-source learning materials. This can help bring the power of education to students around the world, especially in communities where books, schools, and other learning resources are difficult to afford.
At the same time, we are excited by the discoveries being made in biblical archaeology, ancient Hebrew studies, and the history of Jewish and Christian faith. Archaeologists uncover clues about how people lived thousands of years ago. Scholars study the original languages of the Bible to better understand its meaning. Historians explore how people have practiced their faith, passed down their beliefs, and searched for wisdom throughout the centuries. Each new discovery gives us another opportunity to understand the Bible and its world more deeply.
Our goal is to bring all these discoveries and ideas together into one inspiring learning experience. We want students to explore the wonders of science, discover the lessons of history, understand the wisdom of the Bible, and develop the curiosity and character to make a positive difference in the world.
